About the artist

I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri where I lived until I graduated from the University of Missouri, St. Louis in 2021 with my BFA with an emphasis in painting. There I was awarded the Hilda and Roy Bergman Scholarship of Art. I currently reside in Bradenton, Florida where I work as a practicing artist and high school fine arts teacher. Most of my work is in the medium of oil paint, but I find inspiration in printmaking, photography, digital work, and various other mediums. Mid-Century pop art and culture are what inspire the subject matter of my art. Most of my subject matter is derived from the time periods of the 60’s, 70’s, and early 80's pop culture, advertisement, fashion, decor, etc. I can't help but gravitate towards this subject matter leading to my most inspired pieces that I have created. My work is an outlet of personal obsessions, daydreams, and all the other things that drive and inspire me every day. I chose to create most of these subject matters in large scale oil paintings. With a simple composition, I explore a variety of brush work, textures, and color palettes.
